News broke earlier this morning that 63-year-old designer Vera Wang and husband Arthur Becker are separating. Wang and Becker have been married since 1989, a year before Wang would open her first salon and begin her journey to becoming one of the most iconic designers in decades. The couple have two daughters together, Cecelia and Josephine.
Wang and Becker live in Manhattan, which means that any separation papers will be filed through the New York court system. Becker stands to receive a substantial settlement and alimony if they choose to divorce, and some very lucky divorce lawyers in New York will most likely make a pretty penny in the process.
Wang is particularly known for her work with bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. A-list celebrities to rock Vera Wang dresses at their weddings include Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Garner, Uma Thurman and many more. Becker, meanwhile, plays an integral role in the business operations of Wang’s company.
