Edward Ray Fisher and Matthew Underwood both escape jail time.Hollywood’s celebrities are always good for producing domestic and criminal incidents. They’re also good at escaping potentially harsh penalties — most likely with the help of a well-paid lawyer.

Two incidents recently resolved include a domestic violence charge filed against Edward Ray Fisher of OneRepublic and charges of drug possession and contributing to the delinquency of a minor against Matthew Underwood. Lucky for them, neither man will be spending time behind bars.

Edward Ray Fisher

In the case against Edward Ray Fisher, the charges were dismissed. Fisher’s ex-girlfriend claimed that he had lost his cool one night and attacked her, pushing her into cabinets. The prosecution had filed charges against him for disturbing the peace, domestic assault and destruction of private property. However, the tide quickly turned in the musician’s favor, and the city attorney in Denver is now claiming that there is not enough evidence of a crime being committed and requests that the charges be dismissed. The judge is expected to follow through with the request once some paperwork is finished up.

Matthew Underwood

Back in April, police raided Matthew Underwood’s home because the Nickelodeon star was suspected of having marijuana on him. Not only did the police discover the weed they were looking for, but they also found the 22-year-old star’s 17-year-old girlfriend. Given her underage status, Underwood suddenly became the subject of a much more severe investigation. (This may have been a fun case for a Nassau County criminal lawyer to follow.)

In the end, Underwood agreed to plead no contest to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received probation for his offenses, and he must attend a substance abuse panel, pay a $150 fine for court costs and report to a victim impact panel.
