Celebitchy Celebrity News Blog

Gossip site Celebitchy takes the concept of spreading rumors to heart, preferring to repeat the stories scooped on other news sites. The writers at Celebitchy are upfront about the lack of original content and even provide a disclaimer to ensure that readers don’t attempt to hold the site to mainstream journalistic standards of fact-checking.

“All information on this site is for entertainment purposes only,” states the disclaimer. “Articles are based on rumor, conjecture, and published information in other sources.” While you won’t find any breaking news scooped by Celebitchy reporters who bag an interview or cover a Hollywood beat, you can find plenty of dish and commentary on the stories aggregated from a bevy of other gossip blogs.

The writers at Celebitchy take the second half of the site’s name to heart and revel in spotting the stars’ flaws and faults, especially in the looks and fashion department. Sample story: “Katy Perry Should Take Better Care of Her Skin” complete with ultra-close-up shots of the singer’s pimples.

Those who are easily offended may wish to get their gossip elsewhere: Celebitchy isn’t afraid to use frequent profanity or make reference to sexual acts. Those who like their dirt to be dished up with extra dirt will be plenty rewarded.

Celebitchy uses plenty of photos, but don’t expect any exclusives. The site follows the “credit it and you can keep it” philosophy of Web photo borrowing (sort of like the Napster of gossip blogs). You’ll find plenty of pics from the other big sites in a handy one-stop shop.

The head writers at Celebitchy, who do not use their real names, include Kaiser, who describes herself as a writer from Virginia who loves Gerard Butler (one of the less-vilified stars on the site), and MSat, a public relations director by day.

Ownership information on Celebitchy is not available on the site (a frequent occurrence with gossip blogs who stretch the definitions of fair use).
