Auto Accidents

Auto accidents are the most common type of personal injury. Although most auto accidents involve at least two cars colliding into each other, there are also situations where automobiles crash into telephone poles or storefronts. That might make for an exciting movie, but in real life, you’ll need to get a lawyer.

Billy Mays outside his hotel in NYC

Billy Mays, another celebrity to die this past week, did so yesterday in Florida. Mays, 50, was a famed TV marketing guru. His wife found him unresponsive on Sunday. On Saturday he was bopped on the head by a suitcase during a bumpy flight. He told his wife he didn’t feel well.

Maybe this will turn into a wrongful death lawsuit. Reminded me of Steve Allen’s death about ten years ago. He was involved in a minor car accident, went to his son’s home, fell asleep, and died in his sleep. He thought he was fine after the accident but an autopy showed he had a broken rib.

Inglourious Basterds Premiere - 2009 Cannes Film Festival

Celebrity heartthrob Rob Pattinson, who was in the midst of filming Remember Me in New York City, tried to run away from the huge collection of crazed, screaming fans, and was accidentally struck by a moving taxicab. The driver hit his breaks as soon as he made contact with Pattinson so the 23 year-old Twilight actor wasn’t hurt; in fact, he was able to walk away from the accident. Although often followed and hounded by mobs and mobs of fans, the actor has since employed his own security to complement the bodyguards the production company already provides.

Personal injuries can occur at anytime even if you are just going about your daily routine. It pays to always be alert and cautious of your surroundings because you could unknowingly be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Bret Michaels of the band Poison was injured last week when he appeared on the Tony Awards. He fractured his nose and hurt his lip from a piece of the set falling on him. Sounds like a personal injury lawsuit in the making, hmm? Bret went for a CT scan, just to be sure!
