Nic Cage in a Child Abuse Investigation

Actor Nicolas Cage’s recent arrest for domestic abuse and disturbing the peace took an even more unpleasant turn when child abuse detectives were called in. TMZ reports that the investigator was brought in as a response to an eyewitness report.

According to the New Orleans Police Department,’s report, the witness told cops that he saw “Mr. Cage pull the male child to the ground by his hand” during his drunken altercation with his wife, Alice.

Alice had a different version of events, telling the cops that she and Nic were on their way home (with Alice in the driver’s seat “due to his intoxicated state”), continuing to argue as they had been earlier in the night.

They picked up their son from a friends’, then arrived home, at which point, Alice told the police, “Mr. Cage fell while holding their son. The fall caused the 5-year-old to suffer a minor abrasion to his left knee.”

The police wanted to interview the child, but Mom wouldn’t agree. They did interview Cage, and described him as “hysterical” and “irrational.” The actor was ultimately arrested due to the alleged assault on his wife earlier that evening.
