Seattle Mariners outfielder Milton Bradley has been served with divorce papers by his wife, accusing him of abusing her during their five-year marriage. The legal papers filed included a claim that the Mariners star had thrown a glass at Monique Bradley while they were staying together on New Year’s Eve at a New York City hotel.
In court filings, she claims Bradley threw the glass after yelling and cursing at her for five minutes. According to the report, “hotel security knocked on the hotel room door as she was in the bathroom trying to stop the bleeding, but Milton said there was no problem and Monique didn’t go to the hospital.”
History of bad behavior
Earlier in January, Bradley was arrested in Los Angeles on felony charges and was released on $50,000 bail. He also spent two weeks away from the Mariners squad last May to deal with his personal issues. He has played for eight clubs in 11 major league seasons marked by rough behavior, suspensions, and repeated run-ins with both umpires and managers.
