Michael Jackson’s kids, Prince, Paris and Blanket, have instituted a self-imposed boycott of the manslaughter trial linked to their father’s death. The children are still grieving the loss of their beloved father and custodial parent. Apparently, it’s too painful for them to witness pictures, testimony and graphic details of their father’s death as the information plays out in open court.
MJ’s kids grieving too much to watch
Celebrity tabloid TMZ reports that Michael Jackson’s kids decided to boycott the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray. To these young kids, watching coverage of the manslaughter trial would force them to relive the already-painful and unbearable death of their beloved father. The two eldest children are particularly hard-hit with feelings of loss over their dad’s death at home, which they witnessed.
Katherine Jackson angered over graphic images
The children’s caretaker and paternal grandmother, Katherine Jackson, reports to close family and friends that she’s relieved her grandchildren are disinterested in the manslaughter trial’s televised coverage. She’s glad that her grandkids are not driven by a curiosity to watch the televised court proceedings unfold daily. She’s particularly disgusted with case prosecutor David Walgren for his decision to display an autopsy picture of MJ as his first graphic image in the trial’s opening statements. Katherine took issue with the prosecutor’s judgment to utilize the shocking and disturbing picture in any manner in the public, televised trial. What mother would not?
Prince willing to testify
It’s not yet certain whether any Jackson kids will be called upon to testify as prosecution witnesses. It seems unlikely such a decision would be made by prosecutors. Still, MJ’s eldest, Prince, stands willing and ready to testify if needed.
