Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels finally reach separation agreementMelissa Etheridge and former domestic partner Tammy Lynn Michaels reached a settlement agreement last night, a little over two years after Etheridge filed a Petition for Dissolution of Domestic Partnership in an L.A. County Superior Court.

Etheridge and Michaels married in 2003 only to end their relationship in 2010. Since then, the relationship between the two has been tense at best. Fights between the couple over everything from spousal support to child support to child custody have occurred, garnering significant media attention and dragging out proceedings for far longer than could have been anticipated when they initially split. Divorce lawyers in Oklahoma City advise clients to avoid such fights whenever possible as they result in extra expenses, damage relationships and place an unnecessary amount of stress on any children involved.

A TMZ exclusive report says that Michaels is set to receive an as-yet undisclosed amount of spousal and child support from Etheridge each month. The two will share custody of twins Johnnie Rose and Miller Steven, now five years old.
