The story of Mad Max and the Russian pianist – where does one begin?

Recent Mel Gibson news stories have left out how he and Russian beauty Oksana Grigorieva hooked up in the first place. After she gained popularity in 2006, Gibson signed her to his record label, and produced her debut album which dropped in 2009.

After 28 years of marriage and 7 children, ex-wife Robyn Gibson was filed for divorce in early 2009 – while Mel was running around with Oksana. The very public affair made for a paparazzi frenzy, and before long, rumors were swirling that Grigorieva was pregnant with Mel Gibson’s child. Sure enough, in October 2009 little Lucia was born.

In July 2010, new stories about the couple started to pop up again. This time, he and Oksana were separated. On top of this, Grigorieva filed a restraining order against Gibson as she claimed that he punched her in the face “more than once.” As a result, Grigorieva had a broken tooth and concussion. Malibu police quickly jumped on the scene and started a domestic violence investigation. Mel Gibson was a suspect, but no charges had been filed.

In July, those infamous taped phone calls were released to the press. They were recorded February 18, 2010 after a heated argument between the couple. Now Gibson and Grigorieva are locked in a custody battle, and Oksana is claiming that the phone call tapes are proof that the baby is in danger. She wants sole custody. Will she win? The case isn’t so cut and dry – on August 3rd she missed her second consecutive day of deposition with Mel’s lawyers.
