Lindsay Lohan’s most recent stint in jail was so short, you could barely have screened one of her movies during the time she was in the pokey. In fact, everything happened so fast that Lilo’s lawyer practically scribbled an appeal on the first scrap of paper she could get her hands on.
TMZ has a copy of the actual appeal filed by Shawn Holley mere minutes after Judge Judy Sautner sentenced our favorite child-star-turned-bad-girl to 120 days in jail for violation of probation. Thanks to Holley’s quick thinking, the sentence was closer to 120 minutes long.
The gossip site says Holley wrote the appeal “on what looks like a stationary store legal form” and noted that both Holley and Lilo’s names are “scribbled,” betraying the hastiness of the action. Printed on the form was a reference to the client being “indigent” — obviously not true in this case, so the lawyer simply marked those words out.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said those two hours may be all that Lohan will have to serve, thanks to jail overcrowding. Said Whitmore, “Instead of doing 120 days, or the reduced 20 percent sentence, Lindsay could serve only several hours, and then be released. If Lindsay were to surrender on a weekend, when the jails are the busiest, this would be Lindsay’s best shot of getting out in no time.”
To quote Perez Hilton: “You gotta love the system!”
