Lane Garrison was released from jail after posting bail on June 29th. The price tag on his freedom? $50,000!
Garrison was in jail for more than two months after allegedly assaulting ex-girlfriend Ashley Mattingly in the lobby of her apartment building. The incident came just days before his probation for vehicular manslaughter would have been over. (Criminal lawyers advise clients to stay out of trouble as much as possible, but that doesn’t always happen.) The LAPD promptly mounted an investigation and eventually charged Garrison with domestic violence. He pleaded not guilty to the charges he is facing on May 23rd and returned to jail that same day.
Garrison’s next appointment with the justice system is scheduled for July 11th, when he must appear in court for the domestic violence case. Garrison is most likely holding out hope that the charges against him are reduced or dismissed — TMZ spoke to Garrison on June 30th and posted video where Garrison says being in jail is “a quick wakeup call” that “puts you back in check.”
