Kristin Chenoweth was filming a scene for The Good Wife in New York City yesterday afternoon when the day’s plans went astray. Chenoweth was hit in the head and knocked unconscious by a piece of lighting equipment that fell following a strong gust of wind. Medics treated Chenoweth on the scene before transporting her to a nearby hospital, where she was kept overnight.
The Los Angeles Times quotes Chenoweth’s publicist, Jill Fritzo, as saying that Chenoweth “thanks everyone for their prayers and good wishes” but does not otherwise comment on Chenoweth’s physical state.
Depending on the extent of her injuries, Chenoweth may be able to seek reimbursement for damages such as pain and suffering, medical care and time lost from work. TMZ obtained photographs taken at the scene showing Chenoweth lying down on a backboard with a neck brace on, but the presence of these devices does not necessarily indicate she was seriously harmed. Chenoweth will most likely see how she feels following her recovery and then speak to a workers compensation attorney if necessary.
The pint-size Broadway singer and actress is best known for her work in Wicked, Glee, Pushing Daisies and GCB. She plays a recurring role in the upcoming season of The Good Wife.
