Josh Brolin and Diane Lane to Divorce

After eight years of wedded bliss, Josh Brolin and Diane Lane have decided to part ways. Lane filed her divorce petition in Los Angeles Superior Court on Valentine’s Day and the news reached the general public this week.

According to a People article on Brolin and Lane’s upcoming divorce, Lane cited February 13th as their date of separation, but little else is known about the contents of the divorce petition or Brolin’s response just yet. That said, the couple has had their fair share of ups and downs since getting married in 2004. Brolin was arrested a few months after their wedding for spousal battery, and again this past December for public intoxication. He got off lucky both times — the battery charges against him were later dropped, and he was released without being officially charged with public intoxication on New Year’s Eve.

Lane and Brolin both have children from previous marriages but none with each other, so child support or custody may not be an issue. If asked, a Virginia divorce attorney most likely say the topics up for discussion in their split will include whether either party should receive spousal support and how their joint property will be divided.
