Many divorces are put on hold when couples attempt to reconcile, but in WWE star John Cena’s case it looks like his attempt to split from his wife may be stalled due to paperwork issues. Elizabeth Cena, John’s wife of nearly three years, has filed legal documents requesting John’s petition be rejected because of its many mistakes.
TMZ obtained an exclusive scoop on these developments yesterday, and an article on their site says the divorce petition contains the following errors:
- Elizabeth is referred to as Elizabeth Huberdeau, not Elizabeth Cena. Cena is her legal last name, so it should have been used in the petition.
- There is no mention of marital property, but Elizabeth claims the couple has joint property that should have been listed.
- The prenuptial agreement the couple signed is referenced in the petition but was not included in the filed documents. As any St. Petersburg divorce attorney could tell you, documents such as prenuptial (or postnuptial, if applicable) agreements have to be attached to divorce petitions when they are filed in Florida.
If a judge agrees with Elizabeth’s request, John’s petition from May 10th will be dismissed. He’ll have to file a new petition if he still wishes to divorce Elizabeth.
