It’s not the freshest of news, but Joe Simpson (father of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson) joined the ranks of celebrities arrested for drunk driving on August 4th.
TMZ scooped the story early this morning, explaining the 54-year-old Simpson patriarch was pulled over in Sherman Oaks, CA that Saturday night. Police suspected he’d been drinking and arrested him. He was booked at a local station and remained in their custody until the following morning, when he was released without bail. TMZ also says the case has yet to be turned over to prosecutors, and there is no word yet on whether Simpson has hired a DUI attorney. (We’re betting he has!)
If convicted, this will be Simpson’s first DUI.
