Lena Headey — the actress who plays Cersei Lannister on Game of Thrones — has filed for divorce from husband Peter Loughran. The news comes two months after the couple’s fifth anniversary.
Headey’s divorce petition went to L.A. County Superior Court late last week. People reports that she cited irreconcilable differences, says they have been separated since 2011, and is requesting joint legal and physical custody of two-year-old son Wylie Elliot Loughran. Headey and her spouse will most likely each hire a family law attorney (if they haven’t already) to hammer out the details of their divorce settlement.
In addition to Game of Thrones, Headey has acted in 300, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and a number of other films and television shows. She was recently cast to appear in an adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, a young adult novel series with the potential to become a major movie franchise if the first film is successful.
