Was actor Sean Penn in his right mind in April of 2009 when he filed for legal separation from Robin Wright Penn, his wife of 13 years? Sean was requesting joint physical and legal custody of their two children which means that the children will live with both parents at their respective homes, and Sean and Robin will make decisions on important topics, such as education and healthcare, together.
That appears to be the option of choice these days as divorcing parents recognize the benefits children gain from them maintaining an amicable and civil relationship. Just because the marriage ended doesn’t mean you can’t try to be friends.
