Shocking! Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston have called off their engagement for the second time!

Shortly after the infamous couple announced to the world in July they were back together and ready to make it work, things quickly headed south.

Rumors had spread that one of Johnston’s ex-girlfriends was pregnant with his child. While a different (unnamed) girl is pregnant with his child, the rumors were fairly accurate. In fact, Johnston confessed this to Bristol on the very day they released their engagement news.

Palin and Johnston have been on and off since she was a freshman at Juneau-Douglas High School in 2005. On opening day of the Republican National Convention in September 2008, her pregnancy was announced in an effort to spin her teenage pregnancy into a positive light for her mother’s vice presidential campaign.

Their first engagement fell apart shortly after their son’s birth, in March 2009.

“[Levi’s] just obsessed with the limelight and I got played,” lamented Bristol Palin in a recent interview about the called-off engagement.

So what’s the take-away for Miss Palin? “Through this whole experience I know I need a man who’s going to be completely honest with me.”

She added that she’d like to find someone who shares her religious beliefs and comes from a good family.

The nearly nine-year run for Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels appears to be over. Etheridge is a 49-year-old singer who has won two Grammy Awards and sold more than 27 million albums worldwide. Recently she filed a Petition for Dissolution of Domestic Partnership in an L.A. County Superior Court. Etheridge cited irreconcilable differences and asked for joint custody of the couple’s 3-year-old twins. In addition to this, Etheridge asked that Michaels not be awarded any financial support.

Etheridge and Michaels, who exchanged wedding vows in Malibu in September 2003, first announced their separation in April 2010, saying in a statement: “We ask for consideration and respect for our family as we go through this difficult period.”

Larry King and his wife, Shawn Southwick, have stated on the record that their divorce proceedings are on hold.  Instead of their divorce that they filed three months prior, it is decided that they will stay married.   CNN host, and on his seventh marriage at 50, he has stated that they are in it for the long haul.

Prior to marrying Larry King, Shawn Southwick was an actress.  She played in mainly sitcoms.  Her acting credits include appearances on Knight Rider, Benson, Who’s the Boss and Remmington Steele.  She has three sons, two from Larry King. Shawn went into rehab in June of 2008 for an addiction to painkillers.  She claims that she took the pills seeking relief from frequent migraines.

Larry King has expressed that their lives are changing and that it will be for the better as long as they remain a family through it all.  His eight marriages to seven different women due not however, hold true to this statement.  With this past, how can we predict a bright marital future?

Allegations had been surfacing that Larry had committed adultery and in the worst societal way.  It was stated off the record that he had cheated on his wife Shawn with her younger sister, which was denied by the sister herself.  She stated that Larry King has served as a father figure to her, and with the age difference that is probably the only thing that has made sense since these allegations surfaced.

The divorce papers, had filed under what legally is considered “irreconsilable differences”, and Shawn would receive full custody of both Chase and Cannon.  Division of marital assets was not divided equally either.  Shawn was to receive all four houses and Larry would then deny all spousal support to Shawn.    Shawn, has been doing better since the perscription drug overdose, as a on-the-record suicide attempt.  Its from here, that they “irreconcilable differences” start to grow wary. Divorce is as you see not always the answer.  Sometimes time apart brings people together. Investigations continue in Malibu for the case of domestic violence accusations for actor Mel Gibson and ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.  The celebrity couple have a baby girl together, named Lucia.  Recent telephone calls that Oksana handed over to police include violent outbursts that made Ms. Grigorieva fear for her life – these are included within the current evidence.

Allegedly, within the messages, Mr. Gibson stated that she deserved a beating because she was ruining his career and keeping him away from his daughter.

They have been in a battle for custody over Lucia for a year now, but further evidence has not been created.

The Los Angeles Times indicates that Gibson’s representative Alan Nierob has not confirmed the report’s accuracy due to legal matters.

Mr. Gibson would face criminal defense charges, jail time and civil penalties, and could lose visitation rights to his daughter.  If the court decides Mr. Gibson is a danger to them, this could very well happen, but they are only investigating – Not arresting or charging. Right now, Mr. Gibson is a very famous actor and producer, but negative press like this, even if untrue, continues to hurt his box office popularity.

“Dog Whisperer”, Cesar Millan and his wife, Ilusion Millan, have filed for divorce this month. Millan and his wife have been married for 16 years. The popular National Geographic Channel show is currently on its sixth season. On his personal website, “Cesar’s Way”, he posted the following:

“We are sad to announce that after 16 years of marriage we have decided to file for divorce. The decision was made after much consideration and time. We remain caring friends, and are fully committed to the co-parenting of our two boys.”

Cesar and Ilusion have most likely already sought legal advice from trusted divorce lawyers in their area; but in regards to their children, perhaps it is in their best interests that they find custody attorneys who handle divorce as well.
