Peter McNeal's wife has filed for divorcePeter McNeal hasn’t had an easy year. He escaped a conviction of child molestation last month due to a mistrial, but now McNeal’s wife, Jill, has filed divorce papers with the Los Angeles Superior Court to split from her husband of 13 years.

While Jill cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce, there can be little doubt that McNeal’s arrest and trial put a strain on their marriage. The couple has two children themselves, aged eight and ten, and Jill has asked to be granted sole physical custody with McNeal receiving visitation rights. The divorce papers also reflect that she requested they share joint legal custody and that McNeal not receive any spousal support. A Roanoke divorce attorney can tell you that such custody splits are relatively common in circumstances where one parent is deemed unfit by the other.

After leaving Cake, McNeal went on to drum for celebrated recording artists like Mike Doughty and Norah Jones.

More to come on what will happen next in McNeal’s child molestation case in the future. McNeal is due back in court in August.
