DMX Goes 102 mph in 62 Zone, Gets Arrested. Again.

Rapper DMX, born Earl Simmons in 1970, is a member of the hip hop group, Ruff Ryders. The rap artist came to fame in the late 1990s and took his name from the drum machine he used to play in the 1980s during his rap beats. Tabloid TMZ’s Celebrity Justice column reports that law enforcement has recently revealed yet another arrest of DMX. This arrest relates to a traffic stop in Arizona for the troubled rapper. Apparently, DMX was driving 102 mph in a 65 mph traffic zone.

DMZ faced more troubles than purely reckless speed – his license was suspended, too

Unfortunately, for the rap star his troubles did not end with being charged with reckless speeding. It seems as though Mr. X was also driving illegally on a suspended driver’s license, as well. The latter offense is what led to his arrest after the Arizona traffic stop for speeding.

DMZ has not fared well in the luck department lately. Instead of walking (or driving) away from the speeding incident with a ticket and proverbial slap on the wrist, the rapper was slapped with three separate offenses. Mr. X was booked for speeding, reckless driving because of the excessiveness of his speed over the speed limit, and driving on a suspended driver’s license. The singer was subsequently released on bond.

Incidentally, with this last arrest, DMX has been arrested some 10 times in Maricopa County, Arizona. His rap sheet (pun intended!) is so long there, that in 2008, Sheriff Joe Arpaio made the rap artist and the others in the notorious “Tent City” prison camp don bright pink jumpsuits.
