Cox responded to Arquette’s divorce petition the same day his was filed, and the two appear to be in agreement on all the major issues couples butt heads on in contentious proceedings.
According to E! News, Cox’s petition says:
- They are divorcing due to irreconcilable differences
- She would like joint legal and physical custody of daughter Coco
- She is representing herself
- She would like to drop Arquette from her legal name (who knew it had been changed??)
So are there any possible snags that could mar this otherwise calm divorce? TMZ says there has been no mention of a prenuptial agreement between the pair, and Cox pulls in substantially more bank than Arquette due to Friends royalties and her present show Cougar Town. Albany divorce attorneys might say that the lack of a prenup would be disastrous for a normal couple, but Cox and Arquette appear to be level-headed enough that they can go their separate ways without fighting over marital property.
After all, Katy Perry and Russell Brand did so too when they divorced earlier this year.
