Raoul Felder is an attorney specializing in Matrimonial Law. In 1959, Brooklyn New York native Felder graduated from New York University School of Law and became certified to practice law in New York State. Before specializing in Matrimonial Law, Family Law, Civil Appeals and Trial Practice, he worked as a prosecutor in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and U.S. Court of Appeals. Felder also taught law working at Marymount College and the Practicing Law Institute.
In addition to being one of the most recognized divorce attorneys, Felder is also the author of numerous books, articles and editorials. He was frequently seen on television and is featured on radio broadcasts as a legal commentator on networks including CNN, BBC and the Talk America Radio Network. In the past, Felder hosted weekly syndicated television programs The Felder Report and Crossing the Line. Today, Felder can be seen in the media on various news programs as a legal analysist and guest commentator.
Felder has represented a number of celebrity clients. Some of his most famous include Rudy Giuliani, Robin Givens, and the former spouses of Martin Scorsese, Carl Sagan, Patrick Ewing and Tom Clancy. Felder’s reputation has earned him notoriety being listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law and making New York Journal’s 100 Most Powerful Lawyers in America.
Having a wide range of legal positions, Felder has served as the Assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Justice Department, been on the original Board of Advisors for Court TV, served on the Board of Trustees for the National Kidney Foundation and was appointed to the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct. Felder’s latest position was serving as Chairman of the New York State Commission in 2006.
Some of the more special recognitions Felder has received include being made Honorary Police Commissioner of New York City in 2000 and receiving the Defender of Jerusalem award in 1990 by Israeli Prime Minister, Yitzhak Shamir. Highly involved with New York City affairs, Felder serves on the New York City Economic Development Committee, is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York and is on the Board of Directors for Cop Cares. He has also lent his years of legal expertise by accepting assignments in neighboring New Jersey as the Keynote Speaker at the New Jersey State Bar Association Annual Dinner, representing the area of Family Law.
