The actress, allegedly under the influence of alcohol has admitted drinking several glasses of wine earlier on in the evening.  Amy suffered minor cuts on her legs and feet but appears to be doing ok physically – but emotionally distressed.

Her bail was set at $50,000 and she has been officially charged with second-degree vehicular homicide in the fatal auto accident.  If convicted she faces up to 10 years in prison.  The deceased woman, Helen Seeman, the passenger in the other car was pronounced dead at the scene – although the driver, Fred Seeman was airlifted to a nearby hospital, and is listed in critical condition.

Latest news reveals investigations of an earlier incident during the day in which Ms. Locane was seen swerving and a police report was entered to witnesses claiming another minor accident during that day, in which Amy fled the scene.

Apperantly Judge Marsha Revel refused to hearing him out at the hearing and suggested that he write a letter with what he had to say.  Here is a snippet of the letter:
“Michael desperately wants to avoid seeing his daughter become the next Hollywood statistic.”

How about not wanting your daughter to continue on a destructive path and seeing that she needed some type of intervention?

Apparently, she is being forced to answer on July 6th whether or not she was drug induced on that swerving night in her car.   Supposedly, there was evidence to support this claim, but it was confiscated by the cop who arrested her.  The Santa Monica police report stated that the officer “discovered a folded Clinique sun care card with an unknown substance caked on to the surface of the card in Lohan’s right rear pocket.”

Hopefully this time around, she gets “caught” so there is some time of real intervention so she can get back to solid grounds.

Lindsey Lohan has had her share of trouble with the law, and her newest penalty is to a wear a piece of jewelry. Although, it’s certainly not the kind of jewelry Lindsey is used to wearing. She will be forced to wear a SCRAM monitoring bracelet around her ankle in addition to daily drug tests.

This was all the result of Lindsey’s 2007 arrests for drunken driving and misdemeanor drug charges. On Thursday, the judge ordered an arrest warrant for Ms. Lohan when she failed to appear for a probation hearing. The warrant was revoked when Lindsey posted her $100,000 bail and claimed that while in Cannes he passport had been stolen and she could not leave France.

The judge ordered the young actress to attend an alcohol education program, as well as set a probation violation hearing, in addition to his sentencing of the bracelet and drug testing. Lindsey entered a plea in court to ease the restrictions placed on her, but they were denied, bearing perhaps the most severe consequences for the star’s already unstable career. She has been dropped from a Texas film because of her inability to be on location for the shoots as a result of the restrictions. Pending the results of her probation violation hearing, Lindsey might have an even harder time in the future finding room for her movie career. Party animal Lindsay Lohan has violated her probation and could end up behind bars. Are we surprised? No.

Lohan was put on probation after two DUIs, but hasn’t fulfilled the necessary alcohol education requirement that the judge ordered her to. Judge Marsha Revel told her last year that she must attend a course once every 7 days, and if she did not comply with her probation terms, she was going to jail.

The school Lohan’s enrolled in is – according to state law – required to let the court know if she isn’t in class for 21 days. Sneaky Lindsay, however, waited until the 21^st day to attend classes, so the school has not reported anything relating to an attendance violation.

Since she still violated the judge’s order, Lohan must appear at a May 20 hearing. Since her probation was violated after the judge specifically warned her about the consequences, it’s not looking too good for Ms. Lohan.

Maybe a little jail time is just what she needs…

A bit of background: Heather Locklear is currently serving a three-year probation term after she was arrested for driving under the influence of prescription drugs back in September 2008. She pleaded “guilty” to a more minor charge of reckless driving in January 2009.

In the early morning hours of April 18, Heather Locklear was arrested for allegedly hitting a “No Parking” sign near her home in Ventura County, CA and leaving the scene.

A neighbor reported hearing a crash around 4 a.m. The 48-year-old actress apparently left the scene without telling anyone what happened and was cited for a misdemeanor hit-and-run.

Blair Berk, an attorney for the actress, said Locklear was cited as the vehicle’s owner but said “it is not yet clear who was driving the vehicle.”

According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Captain Eric Dowd, this case will be heard May 17 at Simi Valley Court.

So…cops have no ammo to prove Locklear was driving the car and crashed it into the sign. But if she didn’t do it then who did? And what happened?

Guess we’ll find out May 17…

So what is the take away from this list?  Well – don’t drink and drive.  According to the CDC: “In the United States, motor vehicle–related injuries are the leading cause of death for people ages 1–34, and nearly 5 million people sustain injuries that require an emergency department visit. The economic impact is also notable: motor vehicle crashes cost around $230 billion in 2000.”

End result:  Don’t drink and drive people it’s the law – or are celeb’s above the law?  Only time will tell.

More recently, the former New Jersey Nets ball player was arrested in NYC’s Manhattan after driving his SUV into a tree earlier this month. Witnesses of the incident say that Jayson Williams was oddly sitting in the passenger seat when the police authorities arrived. This was bizarre since no one else was in the car when he was driving. Looks like it’s time to find a good DWI attorney!

There was police footage of Naz completing the tests and failing to follow the procedures.  Although he was officially arrested and charged, the Henry County Police dropped the charges.  I’m sure that any Atlanta Drunk Driving  Attorney looking at the tape could tell some mistakes were made.

First the police shouldn’t have the headlights of the vehicle facing shinning directly into his eyes, and second the police emergency lights are also shown to interfere with these tests.

Naz’s brother (Jabari Jones, who was with him) was found to have marijuana on him and was arrested.

Later when asked about the incident, Naz said he was a victim of profiling.

Get sober or get divorced!

Los Angeles Melanie Griffith, 52, star of the movie Working Girl, was given an ultimatum by husband of 13 years Antonio Banderas – get sober or get divorced! Banderas joins the ranks of families who are witnessing a loved one’s addiction and want them to stop their destructive behavior before it results in a DUI arrest in California.

According to Star Magazine, Griffith checked in this week at the Cirque Lodge facility in Utah for a 30 day stay at a cost of $26,00-$30,000 to detox from her alcohol addiction. The beautiful Cirque Lodge has hosted other celebrities – Lindsay Lohan and Kirsten Dunst. Drug and alcohol abuse is fairly common among celebrities, and unfortunately expected.

Multiple Drug Addiction Treatments

This isn’t Melanie Griffith’s first time in a rehab facility. In 1988, she was sent to a facility for alcohol and cocaine addiction, and in 2000 was sent there for abusing painkillers.

California Punishments for DUI

In case you weren’t aware of it, abusing painkillers and alcohol can land you in the slammer if you’re caught driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol (DUI). Although some states have different DUI laws, the most common one is a breathalyzer test. A score of .08 or higher can lead to an arrest for DUI in California. Depending on what number offense it is for you (first, second, third), your punishment can be jail time, a fine, community service, attendance at a driving class, loss of a driver’s license, and probation.
