Teresa Giudice, star of the Bravo series Real Housewives of New Jersey, recently went on a $60,000 shopping spree with her husband. This happened just days after the couple filed for bankruptcy. $40,000 was spent on furniture alone. The expenses recently came to light during one of the couples’ bankruptcy hearings. Those Real Housewives do not always make the best decisions, huh?
The Giudices currently owe $10.5 million to creditors. The couple was in court trying to postpone the August 22 auctioning of their TV-featured home when receipts of their spree were entered into evidence. Teresa’s response? She needed to buy some household “necessities.” Well, she might have thought she was just being a good housewife!
Judge Stern denied the Giudices’ request to stop the auction altogether, but granted them some time to re-evaluate their possessions. After all, Teresa is a “celebrity” now. Prices could go up at the auction, now set for October 3, 2010.
