50 Cent Sustains Minor Neck and Back Injuries in Car Crash

Rapper 50 Cent (real name Curtis James Jackson III) was briefly hospitalized this morning following a car accident. 50 was on the Long Island Expressway with his driver when a Mack truck rear-ended their SUV. 50 was released from New York Hospital Queens after being treated for minor neck and back injuries sustained when the truck collided with his SUV.

50 is very lucky he escaped this accident relatively unscathed — accidents involving trucks are often deadly and can happen for any number of reasons. According to Thisis50.com, a website owned by 50 Cent, the truck driver told the police he lost control of his vehicle after the contents he was carrying shifted. It is doubtful 50 will pursue compensation from the driver since he was not seriously injured, but a personal injury attorney in Staten Island would likely use the driver’s statement to establish his liability in a lawsuit.
